I’m Suzanne, but everyone calls me Sue. I’m from Calgary, Canada. All I’ve ever wanted to do was be a rock star or to travel. You’ve likely already guessed it, but I’m not a rock star!

Ever since I can remember I was always dreaming of some far away exotic place. Somewhere with different cultures to discover and fresh faces to meet.

It’s no surprise that I chose to study Travel & Tourism in college. After working as a travel agent for a couple years, my need to travel got the best of me, it took over. I got my 1st passport ever, booked a flight to Australia with an open return, and a one year working holiday visa. My life was about to change…I had caught the travel bug. I had wanderlust.

That was in 1996. Since then I’ve traveled to 31 countries, 6 continents (still need Antarctica!), lived in England, married a Brit, then married an American (not at the same time).

I’m currently living back in Calgary, Canada with a full time job as a Travel Administrator, and each year with my precious 5 weeks vacation I venture to somewhere new, somewhere that excites me and scares me at the same time. When I’m not experiencing a new country, I like to check out what my own beautiful country of Canada has to give.

One of my favorite quotes is ‘My education was the world’ by Diana Vreeland. It couldn’t be more true in describing me, from being a young 20 something, to the (40 something) woman I’ve become today.

Traveling has taught me so many life lessons, a skill set entirely different than anything I could have learned in a classroom, any college or university. Tools that have taught me how to navigate through this wonderful and beautiful world that we all live in and call our home; how to embrace others and their cultures, their uniquenesses (is that a word?), and their similarities. We are all just people, and just want to live a happy fulfilling life.
